Frequently Asked Questions
Coach FAQs
What makes MissPoppins different from other coaching platforms?
MissPoppins is unique in that we focus exclusively on parenting and family coaching, rather than being a general coaching marketplace. This means the parents using MissPoppins are actively looking for family-related guidance, so you’re reaching a more relevant audience. It’s a platform built for coaches, by people who understand the parenting space, rather than a generic telehealth service.Do I keep 100% of my coaching fees?
Yes. You set your own pricing and packages, and you keep 100% of your session fees. MissPoppins does not take a cut from your earnings. We sustain the platform by adding a small overhead fee on the client side to cover operational costs, so your rates remain untouched. How and when do I get paid?
Payments are processed through Stripe and transferred to your bank account on a bi-monthly schedule. Payouts occur on the 15th and 30th of each month for all sessions completed in the prior period. This ensures a reliable, twice-monthly income flow. (Note: Coaches must complete a one-time Stripe onboarding to securely link their bank account.)
What about taxes?
Coaches are independent contractors, so you’re responsible for reporting your earnings and paying any applicable taxes. For U.S. coaches, MissPoppins provides a 1099-K form each year (for those meeting the IRS reporting threshold) to help with tax filing. Canadian coaches receive the local equivalent tax documentation. Be sure to consult a tax professional about any income tax, self-employment tax, or GST/HST obligations in your region. How do parents find me?
Every coach on MissPoppins gets a personalized mini-website (profile page) within the app and website. Families can browse or search by specialty and find your profile, which showcases your bio, certifications, services, and packages. From there, parents can book sessions, pay securely, and even chat with you directly through our platform. Your profile isn’t buried in a generic marketplace – it’s presented in a way that highlights your expertise to parents who need it. You can also share your MissPoppins profile link with your own network or website for easy booking. Is the platform HIPAA compliant?
MissPoppins is a secure, encrypted coaching platform built with privacy in mind. We are not processing insurance claims or providing medical services, so traditional HIPAA compliance standards don’t directly apply to our platform. However, we prioritize client confidentiality and data security. If you are a coach in a field with specific privacy or record-keeping regulations, you should continue to follow those professional guidelines. Coaches can provide clients with superbills or documentation for reimbursement if needed, but it’s your responsibility to adhere to any compliance standards tied to your profession. Is there a trial period for coaches?
No. There isn’t a trial period for coach memberships. MissPoppins operates on a subscription model (see membership FAQ below), so once you subscribe, you get immediate access to your dashboard, scheduling tools, chat/video features, and visibility in our network. Because these benefits start right away, we do not offer a free trial. (However, you’re welcome to attend a demo call or explore informational resources before joining to ensure we’re the right fit.)What is the refund policy for coaches?
Membership fees are non-refundable, since you gain instant access to the platform’s tools, integrations, and visibility features upon subscribing. This means even if you decide to discontinue using MissPoppins before your plan is up, we generally do not issue refunds for the remaining term. That said, if there are platform-related issues or extenuating circumstances, we want to be fair – please reach out to us (email HR@MissPoppins.io) and we will work with you to find a resolution. Our goal is your success, and we’ll address any serious service problems on a case-by-case basis. Is there a membership fee to join MissPoppins as a coach?
Yes. MissPoppins uses a membership subscription model for coaches (instead of taking a commission from sessions). We offer a 6-month plan and an annual plan for platform access. For example, the 6-month plan is roughly $40 per month (billed semi-annually) and the annual plan about $30 per month (billed yearly), both plus a one-time onboarding fee. These plans grant you a platform license to use all of MissPoppins’s features: your coach profile site, scheduling calendar, video/chat system, payment processing, file sharing, and more. By charging a flat membership, MissPoppins enables you to keep 100% of your coaching earnings while covering its costs through the membership and a small client-side fee.Who can become a MissPoppins coach?
We welcome certified professionals and experienced providers across all areas of parenting and family support. If you are trained or certified in fields like fertility coaching, pregnancy/postpartum support, infant sleep consulting, child development, education, family therapy, or other parenting-related specialties, you could be a great fit. We do require that coaches have any necessary certifications for their field and jurisdiction. As part of our vetting, coaches go through an application process – you’ll submit your credentials and experience, and MissPoppins may perform reference or background checks to ensure a safe, high-quality network. Our community is for trusted, qualified experts dedicated to helping families thrive.Does MissPoppins deliver clients to me?
MissPoppins isn’t a lead-generation agency or marketplace that funnels clients to you. Think of us like Shopify for parenting coaches: you bring your expertise and your clients, and we give you the storefront, payment system, and growth tools to run your practice. That said, families can discover you through our ecosystem – your profile can appear in searches, categories, or through referrals on the platform. We provide visibility to an audience of parents seeking coaching, but we don’t actively assign or guarantee clients. How do I join or apply to be a coach on MissPoppins?
The process is straightforward:
Apply/Acceptance: First, fill out the coach application on our website (or attend an info session here). We’ll review your qualifications and experience. Once you’re accepted, you’ll move to onboarding.
Choose a Plan: Secure your spot by purchasing your chosen membership plan (6-month or annual) via our platform.
13.Can I bring my existing clients onto MissPoppins?
Absolutely. In fact, many coaches use MissPoppins as a convenient way to manage their existing client base. You can invite your current clients to book sessions with you through your MissPoppins profile. They’ll benefit from the easy scheduling, payment processing, and communication tools (and they don’t have to pay anything to create a client account). Bringing your clients onto the platform can simplify your workflow – all your appointments, notes, and messages are organized in one place. Plus, your clients might appreciate having a professional portal for their coaching sessions.
14. Do I need liability insurance or any other protections as a coach?
As an independent coach, you are responsible for complying with any professional insurance or liability requirements of your field. MissPoppins does not provide malpractice or liability insurance coverage for coaches. We strongly recommend that if your certification or profession requires you to carry liability insurance (or if it’s standard in your industry), you maintain an active policy independently. Additionally, ensure you practice within the scope of your training and follow any laws or regulations applicable to your profession. MissPoppins vets coaches for credentials but does not assume liability for the advice you give – ultimately, the coach-client relationship is between you and the family, so having your own protections in place is wise. Always check your local regulations and professional guidelines to make sure you have the proper coverage and licenses to coach legally and safely.
Parent FAQs
1.How does MissPoppins help me as a parent?
MissPoppins is a holistic, on-demand parenting support platform – essentially “Uber for parenting” – that gives you instant access to expert guidance whenever you need it. Instead of scavenging through Google or social media, you can connect immediately with certified parenting coaches across a range of specialties (infant sleep, lactation, toddler behavior, child nutrition, parental wellness, etc.) all in one place.
2. How do I find the right coach?
The MissPoppins app makes it simple to find a coach tailored to your needs. You can browse by category (e.g. Sleep, Nutrition, Behavior, etc.) or use the search feature to look for a specific expertise or even a specific coach by name. Each coach has a detailed profile showing their bio, credentials, certifications, and the services or packages they offer, so you can review their qualifications and focus areas. This way, you can easily compare coaches and choose the best fit for your family’s situation. (Tip: Many parents start with a free intro session to see if the coach is a good match before booking a package – see trial info below.)
3. What kind of support is available?
MissPoppins coaches cover every stage and challenge of early parenthood. We have experts to help with pre-conception and fertility planning, through pregnancy and birth preparation, and all the way to postpartum recovery and newborn care. Areas of support include:
Fertility & Planning: Guidance on conception, fertility treatments, IVF support, and birth planning.
Pregnancy & Postpartum: Pregnancy wellness tips, doula support, postpartum recovery, lactation consulting, and newborn care.
Sleep & Feeding: Infant sleep training and toddler sleep routines, gentle feeding guidance (breast, bottle, pumping), and nutrition coaching for babies and toddlers.
Child Development & Behavior: Milestone tracking, toddler behavior management, potty training, speech development, and special needs coaching for developmental delays or neurodiversitybenefitnews.com.
Parent Wellness: Support for parental mental health, stress management, and self-care (because a healthy parent is important for a healthy family).
Relationships & Transitions: Coaching for co-parenting or relationship challenges, adjusting to new siblings, returning to work, or other major family transitions.
4. How do I book a session?
Booking a session is quick and seamless. Once you’ve chosen a coach and a service, simply pick an available time from the coach’s calendar and confirm the booking. Everything is handled securely within the app – there’s a swift, one-tap checkout process for payment, so you don’t have to juggle external links or payments. In a few taps, your session will be scheduled and you’ll receive confirmation details right in the app.
5. Do I get reminders for my sessions?
Yes. MissPoppins will send you helpful reminders so you don’t miss your appointments. You’ll get an SMS text message and an email about 24 hours (1 day) before your session, and another reminder about 1 hour before the session starts (as long as you’ve provided your contact info and consented to reminders).
6. How secure is the platform?
Security and privacy are top priorities for MissPoppins. All chats, calls, and data on the platform are encrypted and privacy-protected, meaning your conversations are confidential and safeguarded. The app is built with compliance to data privacy regulations, and all personal information or session details are stored securely. Only you and your coach can access your session content – MissPoppins provides a safe space so you can freely discuss sensitive parenting concerns. You can have peace of mind that your videos, messages, and files stay private and protected.
7. Do I have to commit to a package?
No – you have complete flexibility. You do not have to buy a big package or membership upfront. MissPoppins lets you start with a single session if you want, or simply book sessions as-needed whenever a concern arises. We do offer multi-session packages for parents who want deeper, ongoing support (often at a bundled discount), but it’s entirely up to you.
8. Is there a trial for parents?
Yes, new parents can usually start with a free consultation. MissPoppins offers a free intro session (often a short video or phone consultation) so you can meet a coach at no charge and see if their coaching style fits your needs. Simply tap “Book a Free Consultation” in the app or on our website to schedule this initial session
9. What is the refund policy for parents?
In general, sessions and packages are non-refundable once they’ve been delivered (i.e. after the service has been provided). This is because you’re paying for the coach’s time and expertise. However, we absolutely understand that sometimes unexpected issues occur – for example, if there’s a technical problem on the platform or you were unable to connect with your coach at the scheduled time. In those cases, our support team will make it right: we will help you reschedule the session or resolve the issue, and if a session truly couldn’t happen due to a fault on our side, we will evaluate refunds or credits on a case-by-case basis. Our goal is to ensure you get the support you paid for. (Tip: If you ever run into a problem during a session, reach out to our support at ask@misspoppins.io and we’ll assist promptly.)
10. How do I know the coaches are qualified?
MissPoppins maintains a high standard for coach qualifications so that parents can trust the guidance they receive. All coaches are thoroughly vetted before joining the platform – MissPoppins requires their certifications to be uploaded. Our coaches are specialists in their respective fields (e.g. certified sleep consultants, licensed lactation counselors, experienced child development experts, etc.), and all are carefully selected for their expertise and dedication to supporting families with compassionate guidance. You can view each coach’s profile to see their credentials, years of experience, and any relevant licenses or certifications. In short, every coach on MissPoppins is qualified and vetted, so you can book with confidence knowing you’re getting advice from a true expert.
