Some of the basic milestones that you should be able to observe when your little one is just 2 months old are put under various categories

Emotional and Social Milestones

  • Feels calm and safe when you pick them up and hold them in your arms

  • Stays calm or likes the sound of your voice

  • Reciprocates with a smile or a soft giggle when you talk to them

  • Is happy to see you

  • Can look towards you

Communication and Language Milestone

  • Makes sounds other than crying and sobbing

  • Starts reacting to loud noises or sounds

Cognitive Milestones (learning, thinking, problem-solving)

  • Start to focus on objects like toys, blankets, etc for long periods of time

  • Observe you as you move around them.

Physical Movement Milestones

  • Is able to hold their head up when you put them on their tummy

  • Can open their fists even if it's for a little while

  • Starts moving both their tiny hands and legs
