Emotional and Social Milestones

  • As you have been teaching your child to self-soothe, they will be able to self-soothe after 10 mins of you dropping them off at daycare or leaving them with a caregiver

  • Wants to go play with other children of their age group.

Communication and Language Milestone

  • You are able to have small conversations with your child. They are able to start using more than two words in a sentence.

  • Start asking simple questions starting with “Who”, “What”, “Where”, etc. eg: Where is your toy box?

  • Show the images in books and ask them to explain what action the figure in the book is doing. Eg: Show them a train or a bike being ridden in a book and ask them to explain in their own words what they think is happening.

  • They are able to tell people their first name when asked “What's your name?”

Cognitive Milestones (learning, thinking, problem-solving)

  • Is able to copy simple drawings you show them, eg: circles, wavy lines, triangles, etc

  • Listen to you when you tell them not to touch something hot.

Movement/Physical Development Milestones

  • Is able to string things together in a thread like beads

  • Is able to dress on their own in simple clothes like loose pants.

  • Able to start using a fork
